DACIA INTRODUCES ITS NEW 2019 TECHROAD LIMITED EDITION AT GENEVA

  • Dacia will unveil the new top-of-the-range Techroad limited edition available on All-New Duster, Logan MCV Stepway and Sandero Stepway.
  • New 1.3 TCe 130 GPF and 150 GPF engines on All-New Duster available on 4x4 versions from summer 2019.
  • Record year for Dacia in 2018: 700,798 vehicles sold worldwide (+7% growth). Sandero - still the most popular vehicle in the consumer sales rankings in Europe.
  • UK sales of the Techroad will begin from April 2019.

At the 2019 Geneva Motor Show Dacia is premiering the new 2019 Techroad limited edition. A cross-range edition available on All-New Duster, Logan MCV Stepway and Sandero Stepway, the top-of-the-range trim comes in two new colours: Fusion Red and Highland Grey. On the outside the Techroad editions feature red inserts on the body lines, door mirror housings and side sills, as well as on the inner door panels, air vent surrounds, upholstery and even the front and rear protective mats. Also included are new interior trims featuring red details with contrasting grey upholstery and a dark carbon dashboard.

A red centre cap features on the new two-tone 16-inch wheel designs for Logan MCV Stepway and Sandero Stepway with new 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels on Duster. This clever system gives the rims an effect that is attractive and easy to maintain.

The Techroad is also equipped with useful Dacia technologies, such as rear parking sensors and for Duster extras like climate control, hands-free key card, blind spot detection, multi-view camera and Media Nav Evolution multimedia system compatible with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto®.

Dacia will also present its new 1.3 TCe 130 GPF and 150 GPF engines on Duster, available on 4x4 versions from summer 2019. This new generation of petrol engine combines latest Alliance innovations to offer the highest levels of reliability and durability.

For Ionuţ Gheorghe, Dacia Sales and Marketing Director, “This launch offers a promising start to 2019 for Dacia. It follows a record year in Europe in 2018 with great results for Sandero and All-New Duster which saw sales surge by 20.5%”.

New sales records
In 2018, Dacia sold 700,798 vehicles worldwide, a global increase of 7% (7.5% for passenger vehicles, 1.1% for LCVs).

It set a new record in Europe with 511,622 registrations (+10.3%) and a market share of 2.9% (+0.3 points).

Sandero is still the most popular vehicle for consumer sales in 2018. Launched one year ago All-New Duster ranks as the most popular SUV for consumer sales in Europe.

About Dacia
Dacia has a long history associated with Renault, the French brand first working with Dacia plants in Romania in the 1960s, before acquiring them fully in 1999. The brand concept is simple: to shake up preconceived ideas. Dacia produces spacious, robust, high-quality vehicles of original design that are affordable for everybody.

Dacia vehicles offer exceptional value for money. Reliable and resistant, they embody the best of Renault expertise. Relaunched by parent company Groupe Renault in 2004, the Dacia range has been expanding constantly and buyers have a wide array of vehicles to choose from, ranging from Dacia Duster, a sporty all-terrain vehicle, to family vehicles such as the Dacia Sandero and Dacia Logan MCV. The concept continues to enjoy great success with over 5 million Dacias sold in Europe since the brand’s revival in 2004.

Dacia launched in the UK in January 2013 and enjoyed the most successful start ever for a new car brand in the UK. Dacia was named as the most recommended car brand in 2018 in a list compiled by YouGov in its BrandIndex, beating 34 other manufacturers. Dacia was also named Best Value Brand at the Auto Trader New Car Awards 2018, voted for by 43,000 real UK car owners. Dacia was one of only four out of 36 manufacturers to receive five-star reliability ratings in the 2017 Which? Car Survey, outperforming many well established and premium brands. The Dacia Sandero has been awarded the title of “Best Small Car under £12,000” by What Car? for seven consecutive years (2019, 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013). More than 140,000 Dacia vehicles have been sold in the UK to date.
