The New Dacia Logan MCV has won the coveted Most Highly Rated Car award at the 2017 Honest John Awards in London tonight.
Now in their seventh year, the awards named the New Logan MCV the Most Highly Rated Car after it received more positive owners’ reviews on honestjohn.co.uk than any other vehicle over the past 12 months. The leading motoring website has around two million visitors each month.
Commenting on New Logan MCV’s award win, Dan Powell, Managing Editor of honestjohn.co.uk, said: “The Most Highly Rated Car is one of the most-coveted of all of the Honest John Awards, because it is based solely on owners’ reviews. Praised by our readers for its excellent value, low running costs and spacious interior, the Dacia Logan MCV was the clear winner over the past 12 months with more positive owner reviews than any other vehicle.”
Vincent Tourette, Managing Director, Groupe Renault UK & Ireland: “We’re delighted that the New Logan MCV has won the Most Highly Rated Car category at the Honest John Awards. So many positive owners’ reviews prove beyond doubt that Dacia is not only delivering class-leading affordability in its vehicles, but also a highly rewarding ownership experience. With Dacia, drivers enjoy a no-nonsense and highly appealing combination of value, quality and robust reliability.”
Appealing to cost-conscious drivers who need a large amount of space, the versatile New Logan MCV is available in Access, Ambience and Lauréate trim levels. It comes with a choice of three engines, including a diesel option that returns up to 80.7mpg (NEDC combined). The New Logan MCV is priced from £7,295 OTR, or a new rugged Stepway edition was launched in the UK earlier this month, priced from £11,495.
The UK’s most affordable estate car previously scooped the Gold award in the fiercely competitive Family Car category of the Auto Express Driver Power 2016 Awards.
In April 2017, Dacia sold its 100,000th vehicle in the UK since launching here just four years ago in 2013. The 100,000th Dacia in the UK was New Sandero Stepway TCe 90 in Cosmos Blue.
The brand achieved record global sales figures in 2016. Dacia sold 584,219 vehicles in total, across the 44 markets in which it is sold, representing a year-on-year increase of six per cent.
Dacia also has an active community of followers, with some 3.5 million fans across its various social networks.

Dacia has a long history associated with Renault, the French brand first working with Dacia plants in Romania in the 1960s, before acquiring them fully in 1999. The brand concept is simple: to shake up preconceived ideas. Dacia produces spacious, robust, high-quality vehicles of original design that are affordable for everybody.
Dacia vehicles offer exceptional value for money. Reliable and resistant, they embody the best of Renault expertise. Relaunched by parent company Groupe Renault in 2004, the Dacia range has been expanding constantly and buyers have a wide array of vehicles to choose from, ranging from Dacia Duster, a sporty all-terrain vehicle, to light commercial vehicles or family vehicles such as the Dacia Sandero and Dacia Logan MCV. The concept continues to enjoy great success with over 4 million Dacias sold in Europe since the brand’s revival in 2004.
Dacia launched in the UK in January 2013 and enjoyed the most successful start ever for a new car brand in the UK. Dacia was rated 4th best car manufacturer for ownership satisfaction in the 2016 Which? Car Guide – out of 34 rivals including many luxury brands. Auto Express Driver Power, one of the UK’s largest automotive owner satisfaction studies, has placed Dacia in its top five best manufacturers for three consecutive years – out of 32 brands featured in the 2016 survey, with customers in particular praising the brand’s reliability. The Dacia Sandero has been awarded the title of “Best Small Car under £12,000” by What Car? for five consecutive years (2017, 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013). The Dacia Duster was named TopGear magazine’s “Bargain of the Year 2012” at launch. Over 100,000 Dacia vehicles have been sold in the UK to date.
About the Honest John Awards
Honest John Award winners are selected by HonestJohn.co.uk readers. The main awards recognise and reward the cars that users search for most on the site. The reviews which create the most interest among users are the winners.
The data to measure this is taken from Google Analytics and calculates the number of page views each review has had over the previous 12 months from April 2016 to April 2017. The site gets around two million visits every month with the majority of these users viewing car reviews.
This year the awards are split into 17 main categories from ‘City Car’ to ‘Performance Car’ with the ultimate accolade being the ‘Car of The Year’ which goes to the model which has had the most visits of any car on the site. There are two extra awards: the Most Highly Rated award given to the car that satisfies owners most in the Owners’ Reviews on HonestJohn.co.uk and the Best Real MPG award.
